Beaver Pond Trail is a 2.0 km loop trail that yields excellent views of two beaver ponds while the guide provides an introduction to Algonquin’s fascinating beaver pond ecology. Algonquin Beaver Ecology (2 km) Located 45.2 km from the West Gate or 10.8 km from the East Gate along highway 60. Numbered sections of text in this guide correspond to numbered posts along the trail. The Beaver Pond Trail winds 2 km through rugged Algonquin terrain, offering excellent opportunities to observe the role of the beaver in the Park environment. You may or may not see beavers while walking this trail, but you will definitely observe signs their activity and influence. Only a 2 km drive from the Visitor Centre along hwy. 60 corridor.
